Essential Job Functions

An Estate Planning Paralegal II, under the supervision and direction of Estate Planning attorneys, helps to manage and organize the materials and information relating to estate planning as needed.  

Essential Functions: (This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented and changed as necessary.)

  • Preparation of valuations of assets
  • Assist with estate administration and estate tax return preparation
  • Preparation of beneficiary designation, transfer and claim forms
  • Preparation of health care proxies and powers of attorney
  • Preparation of flowcharts and summaries of estate plans
  • Provide legal and administrative support to Attorneys

Qualifications & Requirements

Education, Work Experience, Skills:

  • The ideal candidate will possess 5+ years of experience of estate planning.  A Bachelor's degree is required.  Excellent communication skills are necessary with the ability to interact professionally with staff, attorneys, paralegals, clients and vendors.  The successful candidate must be able to work independently as well as with a team, have an acute attention to detail and be able to multi-task and prioritize while working in a high pressure, deadline-driven environment.

Technologies/Software:

  • Strong technical skills are required, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio and a form of Document Management System.

Certificates, Licensures, Registrations:

  • Paralegal certificate is preferred.

Work Environment: 

  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
