Essential Job Functions

We’re hiring an experienced marketing and communications professional to support and develop our social media initiatives as part of Kirkland’s Digital Marketing team. This is an exciting opportunity to directly affect the social media strategy for one of the most prominent law firms in the world and to work on impactful campaigns that communicate Kirkland’s unique culture and differentiated services, enhance the Firm’s reputation and support its core practice areas.

The Social Media Specialist will oversee the Firm’s social media presence (primarily LinkedIn and Twitter) and curate social media content on our employee engagement platform. In close collaboration with content owners and departments across the Firm, the specialist will source content for our platforms and will create and maintain an editorial calendar for social media posts to ensure the Firm’s social media content is consistent, timely and diversified.

The specialist will have their pulse on the competitive social media landscape and bring new ideas to the table. They will have an understanding of the audiences for each platform and cultivate ideas for creative, engaging content that aligns with the Firm’s strategic goals, brand standards and voice.

Analyzing data from Google Analytics and other sources, the specialist will provide data-based insights and recommendations for improving post content and campaign strategies.

We’re looking for a strategic thinker and hands-on doer with 6+ years of communications and social media experience, and demonstrated ability to advise on strategy and manage workflows for multi-platform social campaigns. Experience writing and executing social media campaigns is critical. Intellectual curiosity and interest in exploring creative ways of communicating and new technologies is important, as is the ability to distill complex topics into concise, easy-to-read language, and to marry words with imagery.

A motivated, self-starter with strong communication, planning and execution skills will excel in this position. The ideal specialist will be adept at building connections, proactively bringing ideas to the table and staying on top of trends in the rapidly changing social media landscape.

  • Collaborate with departments across the Firm on communication strategy, planning and execution to support ongoing communications and marketing campaigns, which may include initiatives around diversity, pro bono and recruiting, internal communications, advertisements, and client- and prospect-focused campaigns.
  • Provide strategic communications counsel to internal teams, and produce campaigns with a consistent brand, tone and voice.
  • Plan, execute and track multiple projects, working closely with cross-functional team members. Provide regular status updates to stakeholders.

  • Support maintenance of accurate and complete process documentation.
