Essential Job Functions

As a member of the Firmwide Legal Recruiting and Development Department, the Temporary Contract Engagement & Events Assistant will be responsible for supporting the NY Attorney Engagement & Integration (AE&I) function during the 2022 summer program, the Fall orientations and onboarding process, morale/retention initiatives and diversity & inclusion efforts at all levels.

This entails a hands-on and independent approach across to programming including a complex scope of scheduling assignments and needs, balancing workloads and making the most of available resources, while taking into consideration skills required.

Essential Functions

  • Supporting the implementation of attorney engagement initiatives in the NY office during the Summer Program and Fall New Associate Onboarding and Orientation process.
  • Supporting and executing engagement events with the AE&I Department and the Campus Recruiting Department, and various internal partners.
  • Partnering with the AE&I Department and Campus Recruiting Department to implement the Summer Program and New Associate mentoring program.
  • Ensuring established guidelines and best practices are followed and identifies efficiencies.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, with relevant work experience in event planning and management in a similar setting, law firm or professional services strongly preferred
  • Candidates must have strong interpersonal and communication skills, project management, analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Skilled in getting things done and overcoming obstacles to reach the goal
  • The ability to work effectively with all levels of management and Partners, and across all LRD channels and the Travel, Meetings, Events Department, is required
  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated high level of project management skills
  • Excellent judgment and high level of confidentiality
  • Creative and innovative; responsible and responsive; team oriented
  • Documenting medium to large scale projects with minimal supervision; will be involved in developing/delivering presentations

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets
