Essential Job Functions

Kirkland & Ellis LLP is seeking an analytical, organized, detail oriented and motivated individual to join the Risk Management Systems team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the end-to-end delivery of critical Risk programs and projects to meet customer needs. This person will report into the Associate Director of Risk Management / Director of Risk Management and will be responsible for leading the timely development of and/or resolution of system gaps through effective management of cross-functional team members across Business Intake Conflicts, Compliance, Information Governance, Calendar Court Services, Risk Systems and Information Technology teams.

You will play a critical role in identifying gaps in our systems/process, communicating business needs and collaborating with cross functional teams to identify, design, and implement solutions securing necessary approvals. You will have opportunities to audit business processes, perform data analysis, gather business requirements, document new/updated processes and support the roll out of system changes.

Essential Functions: 

For assigned projects:

  • Gathers critical information from meetings with various stakeholders and produces action plans.
  • Communicates insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management appropriately.
  • Performs project management tasks to ensure efficient and successful completion of assigned work/projects.
  • Collaborates with subject matter experts (technical and non-technical) to understand and recommend solutions to management.
  • Ensures standard practices are followed in delivering solutions. This includes supporting requirements documentation, creation of use cases, design specifications, change requests, test cases and other documentation as needed to ensure quality of delivered product.
  • Holds teams accountable and escalates issues to appropriate stakeholders as needed
  • Supports and facilitates functional and user acceptance testing for Risk systems.
  • Performs data analysis when needed to identify issues and support department reporting needs.

Qualifications & Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree in business, information management or equivalent experience in a related field is required.  Five to ten years of experience in a legal environment or other professional services environment leading projects / teams preferred. Risk, auditing (business process and computer-related auditing techniques preferred), business analysis or related experience preferred.

The ideal candidate must demonstrate analytical/critical thinking, excellent documentation skills, strong communication skills, acute attention to detail, a collaborative mindset, business acumen, data mining skills and a general understanding of Information Technology. Multi-tasking, setting priorities planning skills and the ability to produce high quality work are required.  Substantial knowledge of Project Management and Business Analysis methodologies is required. Experience with advance excel, SQL and Qlik preferred.
