Essential Job Functions

The Delivery Services Assistant is responsible for the daily coordination of Delivery Services and facility related activities to ensure efficient and safe operations within the Houston office.  In collaboration with the Houston Operations team, this position is responsible for responding to requests for on-site building issues, workstation and office space needs as well as a basic knowledge of scanning and imaging practices.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented and changed as necessary.)

  • Assisting with office moves, equipment delivery, box moves, and new hire set-up.
  • Provides pro-active and responsive customer service in compliance with the Delivery Services Department Service Standards and Operating Procedures.
  • Completing weekly inventory of general office supplies.
  • Sort and distribute incoming and interoffice mail on a set schedule; receive packages and deliveries.
  • Assist in processing express, overnight and interoffice courier requests.
  • Assist Digital Services team with scanning, photocopies and delivery of finished projects.
  • Meters mail and packages for delivery to post office/mailbox
  • Fills office supply requests from customers
  • Restock and organize supply/copy rooms.
  • Conference room set up
  • Works cooperatively with other Operations Team staff and other firm personnel.

  • Responds to customer/client requests in a professional manner
  •  Identifies and responds to customer/client issues/problems in a timely manner, and seeks feedback/follow-up as appropriate
  •  Builds effective working relationships as appropriate
  • Takes initiative beyond routine responsibility.
  •  Seeks out and accepts new responsibilities.
  • Seeks development opportunities to enhance skills.

OTHER FUNCTIONS (This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented and changed as necessary.)

  • Any other functions/duties as assigned by management

Qualifications & Requirements


  • The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent organizational skills, commitment to quality, attention to detail, and the ability to complete multiple tasks under pressure.
  • Must have a professional demeanor and be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Requires the ability to lift 50 pounds and stand and/or walk for extended periods.
  • At least 2 years of related work experience required, previous law firm experience is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work overtime is required.
  • Associates degree or post-high school technical training preferred; high school diploma required.


  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
