Essential Job Functions

The Senior Tax Analyst will supervise the preparation of federal, state, and international partnership and business tax returns, estimates, extensions, and provide support for inquiries from various tax authorities. This individual will work with both internal and external parties and must be able to handle multiple projects concurrently.

Essential Functions

  • Prepare and review federal and state level partnership tax returns and various other business tax returns and extensions.
  • Assist in the preparation of the Firm’s international tax returns.
  • Review of Pass-Through Entity taxes.
  • Support global mobility tax compliance and employee tax experience (tax briefing, income tax, secondment agreement, mobility payroll, tax equalization, etc.).
  • Ensure proper U.S. tax reporting for foreign based U.S. employees.
  • Review proposed remote arrangements for impacts to both the Firm and the individual.
  • Maintain reconciliation schedules related to international books and records.
  • Assist in gathering information to necessary support inquiries from various taxing authorities. 
  • Assist the Director, Taxes and Senior Tax Manager in various tax research projects and the preparation and issuance of various memoranda related to those projects throughout the year.
  • Drive the implementation of tax planning opportunities, process efficiencies and quality improvements.
  • Monitor current and proposed US & international tax law changes to assess impact to the partnership and partners.
  • Oversight and review of monthly VAT and other operating tax filings and payments for the Firm’s non-US offices.
  • Document of tax policies.
  • Prepare and review various monthly and quarterly partnership filings throughout the year.
  • Other related duties and projects as required.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • The Senior Tax Analyst will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA certification or MST is preferred.
  • Law firm/professional services firm experience with U.S. and International tax matters is desired. Experience with a “Big 4” or other National CPA firm is a plus.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the preparation of federal, state, and local income tax returns is required.
  • Global mobility tax experience, ideally in a professional services organization.
  • Knowledge of Pass-Through Entity taxation concepts.
  • This individual should be proactive, results oriented, and have the ability to communicate with personnel at all levels.
  • The ability to collaborate and effectively facilitate information sharing within Finance and other functions within the Firm to meet sensitive tax filing deadlines through the year is required.
  • The candidate needs to be a critical thinker who possesses a high level of intellectual curiosity, while at the same time is comfortable navigating the details involved with the tax function and its responsibilities.
  • Ability to work extended hours as necessary to complete time sensitive responsibilities.
