Essential Job Functions

As a member of the Staff Recruiting team, the Recruiting Sourcing Specialist will focus on developing a proactive recruitment strategy. With a commitment to providing a positive candidate experience, the Recruiting Sourcing Specialist will think creatively to identify, attract, and engage high-quality talent. This position will report to the Staff Recruiting Manager and partner with recruiters across the US to build strong and diverse talent pipelines for all of Kirkland & Ellis’ business areas.

Essential Job Functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Participate in discovery meetings with recruiters and internal hiring managers to understand the position requirements
  • Develop sourcing strategies and talent attraction initiatives that incorporate our ATS (PeopleSoft), CRM (Talemetry), LinkedIn Recruiter & Talent Insights, and other channels
  • Partner with recruiters, providing insight on the talent pool and recommending tailored sourcing approach for each search
  • Leverage professional networks, social media, user groups, networking events and other creative channels to source both active and passive candidates
  • Maintain candidate database in CRM and help develop marketing campaigns to communicate with past applicants about new job opportunities
  • Conduct initial phone screens to complete high-level assessment of a candidate’s qualifications and fit within the business organization
  • Connect with employee referrals and engage with them for future opportunities
  • Analyze sourcing and recruiting metrics and proactively identify areas for process improvement 
  • Research industry trends and stay abreast of talent/labor market and competitor insights

Qualifications & Requirements

Education, Work Experience, Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree required, or high school diploma/GED and equivalent professional experience
  • 5+ years of recruiting, sourcing, or research experience at an agency or in-house  
  • Excellent communication skills, including experience with interviewing and networking
  • Ability to think creatively with demonstrated project management and prioritization skills
  • Working knowledge of current recruitment and hiring laws


  • Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems and Candidate Relationship Management platforms  - PeopleSoft preferred
  • Expertise sourcing with LinkedIn Recruiter and other professional talent networks
  • Advanced knowledge of Boolean search logic
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
