Essential Job Functions

The Sourcing Manager will lead the ongoing development and implementation of strategic sourcing initiatives, category planning, and drive transformation activities, while building relationships both within the Firm and with its suppliers.  This individual will manage cost savings initiatives, sourcing events, facilitate contract negotiations, and will be responsible for the financial analysis and reporting of ongoing projects. They will oversee the research and evaluation of suppliers and market conditions, while working with internal customers to understand their needs.   


Essential Functions

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to frame and develop project objectives, requirements, and sourcing strategies prior to supplier engagement. 
  • Collect and synthesize data from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy and reliability in order to develop cost models for use in complex problem solving, decision making, and negotiation strategy development.
  • Analyze spend and market data in order to proactively identify opportunities to create long term category management strategies, improve leverage, minimize risk, and optimize spend.
  • Perform market research and supplier due diligence in order to illustrate the financial and operational capabilities of vendors. 
  • Work independently with primary stakeholders, contract management team, and legal counsel to negotiate and finalize supplier agreements, while maximizing value and mitigating risk to the Firm.
  • Lead the implementation of cost reduction initiatives to maximize savings.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education, Work Experience, Skills

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Information Systems, or other Finance-related field is required.
  • Ten or more years of Procurement and/or Sourcing experience is required along with a financial analysis and/or project management background.
  • Expertise in sourcing with a demonstrated ability to manage change is required.
  • Knowledge of the indirect procurement function is preferred. Potential indirect procurement categories include office supplies, technology, facilities (e.g. construction, furniture, fixtures, and maintenance services), electronic subscriptions, guest services, travel, meetings, and event planning.
  • Individuals in this role must have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and are expected to exhibit strong customer service and judgment in communications with attorneys, staff, and vendors of the Firm, including safeguarding the confidentiality of client and Firm information.
  • Attention to detail and the eagerness to learn and progress within a dynamic and growing environment are imperative.


  • A working knowledge of MS Office suite with advanced analytical and Excel skills are required.
  • Experience in managing spend analytics and navigating contract database software is required.

Certificates, Licensures, Registrations

  • Certification in Purchasing, Vendor Negotiation or Project Management is preferred.

 Work Environment

  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and multi-function devices for print, scan, and copy.
