Essential Job Functions
Kirkland & Ellis is seeking a Coordinator to support the Business Intelligence (BI) efforts of the Firm, as part of the Marketing & Business Development Department. This position will report to the BI Manager in New York with an additional guidance from the Global BI Associate Director and the New York Business Development Director. The BI group operates alongside 135 diverse problem-solvers and advisers dedicated to Kirkland’s overall business development, marketing and communications function. Our international team provides seamless service to some of the brightest minds in the legal industry, with an emphasis on quality, innovation and responsiveness.
Business Intelligence is one of the fastest-growing areas in the Firm, pairing information with insight to equip our partners with vital knowledge and drive new business initiatives forward. Key responsibilities include mining a variety of resources to create intelligence briefings, compiling competitive metrics, and providing research support for cross-marketing and targeting projects. Attention to detail is imperative. You must have strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to absorb, refine, and concisely convey complex information. This position will also be involved in some of the BI team’s proactive market monitoring initiatives, and will have a seat at the table to inform these efforts. From time to time, general research, organizational, and/or administrative tasks may also be assigned.
You will need to work independently while making intelligent, informed decisions. A successful candidate will be someone who can anticipate needs and take initiative. This position will focus mostly on Kirkland’s Transactional practice, and you should have general knowledge of how private equity firms function, as well as an understanding of the basic elements of an M&A transaction with the ability to distinguish between various types of deals.
