Essential Job Functions

This individual will report to the local Associate Director, Human Resources and will be a key member of the Human Resources team.

Primary responsibilities include, supporting Associate Director, Human Resources with sensitive employee relations issues as well as other HR-related responsibilities, meeting with new hires during their first 30 days of employment, assisting with requests for employment verification, responding to questions about HR policies and procedures, checking and responding to questions in the KE Staff Performance Review mailbox and Human Resources mailbox, maintaining a positive work relationship with other HR departments including Benefits and Recruiting, and project work, as requested.  It is expected that the individual will take on additional responsibilities and more complex project work over time.   


Essential Functions

  • General administrative duties, creating department templates (aligned with Firm branding standards).
  • Prepare and send out Weekly Memo.
  • Assist with tracking and maintaining performance documents in PS
  • Conduct 30 day new hire check-ins and distribute surveys
  • Analyze and collect data from exit interviews, 30,60, & 90 day surveys, and Glassdoor  
  • Assist and answer questions regarding performance reviews 
  • Scheduled attorney I-9 appointments
  • Respond to questions regarding HR policies and procedures.
  • Assist as needed with employment verifications/wage assignments/unemployment claims/child support.
  • Meet with exiting associates and staff
  • Prepare sensitive departure paperwork, and payroll orders.
  • Add articles and content to HR internal SharePoint sites
  • Support HR Hotline and direct calls/questions to appropriate departments or personnel
  • Assist with summer internship programs
  • Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external clients
  • Assist with special projects as assigned (COVID, contact tracing, etc).
  • Any other functions/duties as assigned by management

Qualifications & Requirements

Education, Work Experience, Skills

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in HR or equivalent experience, and a minimum of three years of HR experience, considerable initiative, outstanding customer service skills and the ability to learn quickly.  Superior written and verbal communication skills; must be skilled with drafting communication targeted to a wide variety of audiences. Must have high energy level, can-do attitude, ability to work independently, and high standards for personal performance.  Work requires excellent proofreading skills, analytical ability, organizational skills, and acute attention to detail, excellent follow-through skills, as well as keen judgment and problem-solving skills.  Individual must have the ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality at all times.  Ideal candidate will be able to multi-task, meet concrete deadlines and advanced knowledge of I-9 forms and work authorization immigration documentation. 


  • MS Office including advanced Excel skills are required. Working knowledge of PowerPoint and Access is preferred

  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
