Essential Job Functions

The facilities assistant is responsible for performing day to day repair and maintenance tasks throughout the firm’s office space. Primary responsibilities include cleaning of offices, pantries and restrooms. Performing and assisting with internal office moves. Installing pictures and artwork. Repairing and assembling furniture, installing keyboard trays and any additional repairs required throughout the office space.

The position requires an individual with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to multi-task while remaining focused in a changing environment.

Qualifying candidates should have 5+ years experience in a facilities related role.  Mechanical, carpentry and commercial move experience a plus. High School diploma required.


Essential Job Functions:


A.  General Cleaning

            1. Maintain and clean offices and cubicles.

            2. Maintain restroom supplies.

            3. General office space maintenance.


B.  Office moves

            1. Move furniture.

            2. Move boxes.

            3. Pack/unpack offices.


C.  Carpentry

            1. Hang pictures.

            2. Assemble and disassemble furniture.

            3. Repair furniture.


D.  General

            1. Answer and respond to work requests by phone and e-mail.

            2. Maintain inventory in department supply room.

Qualifications & Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong customer service skills
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to follow instructions
  • Strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and to act quickly while remaining calm and polite
  • Proficiency in using a computer for data entry and e-mail
  • Ability to coordinate multiple assignments concurrently
