Essential Job Functions

As the Energy & Infrastructure Specialist, you will liaise closely with the lawyers in the Firmwide Energy & Infrastructure team to facilitate various projects and strategic initiatives to drive the development of new business. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships among lawyers and staff to achieve results. Meticulous writing and proofing skills and experience in the legal, energy, professional services and/or financial services sectors are highly desirable.

You will also communicate and collaborate daily with the more than 135 diverse problem-solvers and advisers dedicated to the broader BD, marketing and communications efforts of the Firm. Our international marketing team provides seamless service to our attorneys, with a focus on quality, innovation and responsiveness. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented and changed as necessary.)

  • Consult with key stakeholders on the development and execution of meaningful strategic business development and marketing initiatives for the Energy & Infrastructure industries.
  • Work alongside the Energy & Infrastructure Business Development team to develop clear, concise and compelling messaging and content for use in proposals, digital marketing, attorney resumes and survey and directory submissions.
  • Collaborate with the Global Business Development team to help align business strategy and cross-collaboration efforts.
  • Produce client-facing proposal materials, responses to RFPs and client presentations, including proofreading, formatting (must have exceptional PowerPoint skills), editing, printing, binding and delivery.
  • Overseeing the pitch and proposal tracking process for the Firmwide Energy & Infrastructure team, including follow-up with lawyers to capture and analyze results and develop best practices for future opportunities based on the analyses.
  • Contribute and assist in the development of Firmwide transactions and matters databases and electronic library of pitch components.
  • Conduct online and database research and prepare intelligence reports on clients, qualified prospects, competitors and industries of interest.
  • Assist in overseeing strategy for events, such as client-facing Firm-hosted events, industry conference and charitable sponsorships, speaking engagements, client entertainment and other event activities related to the promotion of the Energy & Infrastructure practices.  

Qualifications & Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Work Experience, Skills

  • A four-year degree is required
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience within professional services with proven business development, client development or marketing experience is required.
  • Experience working in legal, financial services and/or energy industries is highly desirable.
  • Background in business intelligence, target research and client prospecting.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including an innate ability to communicate to the stakeholders on overall efforts, progress and results.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and be able to easily pivot as deadlines and priorities move and change, while maintaining a problem-solving and solutions focused mentality and work ethic.

Technologies/Software

  • A solid command of a number of different software applications to produce high-end, professional work product, including extensive experience in PowerPoint and Excel
  • Experience with various market intelligence and research platforms, including CapIQ, ThomsonOne, Bloomberg, Mergermarket, The Deal Pipeline and Pitchbook is preferred
  • Experience with Content Pilot, InterAction or an equivalent Contact Relationship Management (CRM) system is a plus
