Essential Job Functions

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a member of the Firmwide Legal Recruiting and Development Department, the Firmwide Lateral Talent Analytics Manager will develop and provide analytics that answer critical questions for the firm, extrapolate trends, and tell a story.  This role will partner with Legal Recruiting and Development Department (“LRD”) team members to provide key leaders within the firm with insightful visibility that allows for informed business decision-making.

In this role, the Firmwide Lateral Talent Analytics Manager serves as a technical point-of-contact creating complex reports utilizing viRecruit, the international K2 site and other systems as needed including Cheetah Digital and Accurate. The Manager will foster productive working relationships with business partners, accurately resolve complex, time-sensitive requests, and provide first-class service and support to the Lateral Legal Recruiting group and Firm Management. This individual also supports upgrades, patches, testing and other technical projects as needed. 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Develop predictive modelling and trend analysis tools using advanced statistics that anticipate firm needs while providing real-time answers on questions around the lateral recruiting space (e.g. judicial clerks, lateral candidates).
  • Import, cleanse, transform, validate, aggregate, and analyze data from various sources with the purpose of making conclusions about lateral recruiting trends and best practices.
  • Create statistical summaries, dashboards and special reports from Lateral Legal Recruiting systems.
  • Respond to urgent inquiries and regularly assess shifting priorities.
  • Troubleshoot issues with software and implement workarounds; partnering with vendors as needed.
  • Document and maintain data-related business processes in a clear and concise manner.
  • Provide technical and training support to the Lateral Legal Recruiting team, including training new team members to ensure consistent messaging and clear expectations with regard to data integrity.
  • Conduct regular refreshers and other training as needed for Firmwide team, small groups and individuals.  Create corresponding documentation as appropriate.
  • Identify and resolve process inefficiencies.
  • Propose procedures as needed to maintain integrity and consistency in recruiting software.
  • Communicate clearly with the Firmwide Legal Recruiting team in emails and on conference calls.
  • Produce clear, easy to understand quick reference cards (QRCs) and instructions to the FW team with a broad range of expertise.  Maintain/supplement OneNote housing all viRecruit-related training materials.
  • Import candidate data into viRecruit.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Work Experience, Skills

A Bachelor’s degree combined with a minimum of ten years of experience in Data Analytics, HR or a related field. Experience in a law firm or professional services environment is a plus.  Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to produce high-quality work under tight deadlines are required.  The Manager must have excellent judgment, problem-solving, oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, as well as a strong work ethic and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and build positive working relationships. In addition, candidates must be self-motivated, organized, and able to effectively prioritize competing demands on time and attention. 

The ideal candidate will possess the following key competencies:

  • Ability to effectively synthesize large amounts of data from disparate sources into relevant and easily digestible reports
  • Ability to communicate with various administrative departments and to drive discussions to a successful conclusion/outcome
  • Strong problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to present data in a logical, concise manner
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a high-pressure environment
  • High professional standards for customer service, confidentiality, and quality of work

 

Technologies/Software

  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite products with advanced Excel skills is required.
  • Proficiency with data models, table layouts and design concepts using SQL (Structured Query Language) for reporting and data analysis is preferred. 
  • Proficiency with Tableau (or experience with other data visualization software) is strongly preferred
  • Experience with report building tools like MS Reporting Services is also preferred.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
