Essential Job Functions


The Benefits Analyst will work in conjunction with the Benefits Manager and Firmwide Director of Benefits to support the efficient administration of the Firm’s benefit plans and programs, including retirement benefits and leave of absence plans and policies; create, generate, and review specialized reporting requests; develop, implement, and audit departmental processes and procedures related to the administration of the Firm’s benefit plans; analyze and utilize data to identify opportunities and/or areas for enhancement; and create and execute test plans.  The Benefits Analyst will have an active role in various department projects and initiatives.

  1. Benefits Administration
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the Firm’s health and retirement plans and programs in order to ensure seamless service to Firm participants and support effective plan and program administration
  • Prepare reports based on analysis pertaining to benefit participation, eligibility, and cost
  • Review and maintain internal process documents, making updates and recommendations for change where appropriate.
  1. Compliance
  • Analyze and audit leave of absence data, review and generate specialized reporting requests,
  • Coordinate with internal HR and IT resources in the development, implementation, and evaluation of benefits data interfaces. 
  • Monitor regulatory developments in the leave of absence field and makes recommendations regarding necessary policy or administration changes.
  1. Customer Service
  • Manage select vendor relationships to assure superior delivery of vendor services to the Firm and plan participants.
  • Collaborate with vendors to resolve complex participant issues.

Collaborate and develop strong interpersonal relationships both within and outside of the department. Provide exceptional, prompt service to attorneys and staff on all benefits related issues.

  1. Project Management, Leadership, Mentoring
  • Support Benefits Department initiatives by leading projects in collaboration with internal and external resources.
  • Confidently embrace new challenges and take initiative in identifying and implementing process improvements. Provide accurate information and propose and execute effective solutions to problems.


  • Assist with any other functions/duties/special projects as assigned by management.


  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.  The ability to work successfully in an active environment with the presence of distractions is imperative.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education, Work Experience, Skills

The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical skills, strong project management and superior written and oral communication skills, be detail-oriented, have the ability to work across all levels of management, possess sound judgment, and have the ability and desire to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.  A Bachelor's degree or equivalent, 5+ years of relevant experience required. Experience in a law or professional services firm is preferred. 



  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Proficiency in Outlook and Word


  • Experience with PeopleSoft or other HRMS
  • Working knowledge of PowerPoint
