Essential Job Functions


The Chicago Office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP is seeking an Attorney Engagement Assistant to provide general administrative support for our Attorney Engagement team.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, event support, expense reports, budget, attorney integration initiatives, and other general administrative duties. 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented and changed as necessary.)

  • Miscellaneous administrative duties such as creating nametags, updating department documents,  scanning and copying
  • Managing calendars for Attorney Engagement
  • Coordinate with conference services on room reservations, technology requirements, meals, meeting materials, etc.
  • Provide administrative support for events and engagement programs (which may require lunch hour and evening overtime)
  • Track attorney mentoring program updates and assist with mentor assignment process
  • Maintain attorney engagement-related initiatives on internal website
  • Process expenses reports and check requests
  • Support all Chicago affinity group events
  • Support the Women’s Leadership Initiative
  • Support the Attorney Recruiting Team during the summer program and fall recruiting


OTHER FUNCTIONS (This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented and changed as necessary.)

  • Any other functions/duties as assigned by management

Qualifications & Requirements


Education, Work Experience, Skills

This position requires a high level of collaboration and the ability to work independently.  The ideal candidate will be highly organized, possess excellent proofing and communication (oral and written) skills; the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment; a very strong attention to detail; and a professional demeanor.  Proficiency in Excel required.  Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across departments and offices to achieve results. 

A Bachelor’s degree is required.  Law firm experience is a plus. 


Technical experience should include MS Word, Excel and Power Point. 



This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
