Essential Job Functions


We are looking for a seasoned design professional to join our growing Branding & Creative team within Kirkland’s Business Development/Marketing Department. The Branding & Creative Manager / Senior Specialist will lead global branding and marketing initiatives for external and internal audiences.

The Branding & Creative Manager will be a key member of the Branding & Creative team, as well as a leader and peer in the greater Business Development/Marketing Department. They will closely communicate and collaborate daily with nearly 100 diverse problem-solvers and advisers dedicated to the Firm’s broader marketing efforts. Our international business development team provides seamless service to our attorneys with a focus on quality, innovation and responsiveness.


The manager will report to the Branding & Creative Associate Director and will be responsible for strategizing, planning, executing brand campaigns that align with Kirkland's visual standards and core messaging. The ideal candidate should have outstanding leadership, judgement, project management and problem solving skills, as well as intellectual curiosity. Having a passion for learning new skills and exploring emerging design/marketing trends is a must.

The manager will be a hands-on leader; someone who can lead a team but also dive in to get the work done. They must execute projects from concept to completion with little supervision and enforce systems, policies, procedures and standards for quality. They will actively contribute ideas, and execute and expand upon existing organizational tools, processes, policies and procedures, all while providing superior service to internal clients, producing quality work product, and maintaining an atmosphere of teamwork and continuous improvement.

This global position engages with all of Kirkland’s departments and acts as a strategic advisor to all internal clients. They should understand how brand strategy plays into the broader marketing ecosystem and will collaborate closely with business development teams and other internal departments to meet requirements and deadlines for projects spanning all offices.



  1. Lead creation of engaging digital marketing materials including invitations, animations, video, templates, brochures, presentations and other media aligned with the creative vision of the Firm
  2. Oversee work of junior designers, ensuring solutions adhere to brand and design objectives while meeting deadlines
  3. Work closely with the Associate Creative Director to develop the creative needs of the organization, including the evolution of the organization’s brand identity and visual standards
  4. Assist the Associate Creative Director with workflow and management of day-to-day design operations, with the goal of continued refinement of team processes, policies and procedures
  5. Know our brand guidelines inside and out — they will be a key brand evangelist and communicator of our brand
  6. Increase user-friendliness of brand assets and templates
  7. Co-manage the digital asset management library and media licensing
  8. Manage and develop working relationships with vendors/agency partners to deliver quality, on-brand product
  9. Lead other branding and marketing initiatives as assigned



At this time, this job operates in a remote environment, but will transition to a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education, Work Experience, Skills

  • A B.A. or B.F.A. in graphic design or related field, with coursework/experience in marketing/communications a plus
  • A minimum of seven years’ experience within an agency, in-house or professional services environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of corporate branding and design principles
  • Experience supervising work and leading large-scale projects desired
  • Excellent client service mindset with strong interpersonal skills necessary to develop and maintain positive working relationships with Firm leaders, lawyers, staff, as well as external contacts
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must possess excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment, both independently and collaboratively, to meet competing deadlines
  • Must be flexible and comfortable working with ambiguity in order to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and opportunities
  • Strong portfolio that illustrates the ability to deliver print and digital designs from concept to completion -- Must include link to portfolio in resume


  • Required: Highly proficient in Adobe CC (specifically Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator) and skilled at translating designs into PowerPoint for our general users
  • Experience with audio and video editing (Adobe CC After Effects, Premiere Pro), and digital asset management strongly preferred
    • Experience working in an email marketing platform strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS and responsive design preferred
    • Experience preparing print materials for press with knowledge of image quality and resolution, and color profiles are preferred
    • Comfortable in a Windows environment working with Microsoft Office
