Essential Job Functions


The Benefits Coordinator role requires a results-driven professional who is highly organized, with keen attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability. This individual is expected to complete a variety of project assignments and live and virtual event coordination with limited direction and in accordance with Firm policies, procedures, and standards. This individual will also contribute in significant ways to the evolution of existing HR practices and strategies.  Creative problem-solving, excellent judgment, and resourcefulness will be required for success in this role. Candidate must also have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the proven ability to interact effectively with all levels of an organization. 

  • Assist with executing and integrating strategic initiatives including projects and events set forth by the HR Leadership team.
  • Collaborate with the Associate Director, HR Operations and Benefits on various projects and events, including those under the umbrella of the Kirkland Wellbeing program.
  • Assist with leading meetings, providing timely recap and manages the action items outside of meetings.
  • Escalates known issues/risks to project or event success to manager as appropriate when at an impasse.
  • Prepares, analyzes, and presents high quality deliverables on relevant HR data.
  • Interacts with a variety of business departments across the Firm and builds relationships across HR and the firm with individuals and other departments.


This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, as well as iPhone and Citrix for remote access.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 5+ years with a background in human resources, project management, or business analysis required. Event management experience a plus. Bachelor’s Degree in related field strongly preferred.
  • Relevant experience in a mid to large size law firm, professional service firm, or a corporate or financial services organization is highly desirable. 


  • Listen, draw out key concepts and articulate these concepts (both written and oral formats) to peers and management.
  • Track and document event checklist, surveys, invites and improvements.
  • Draft communication for Firm announcements, wellbeing invite, project communications and updates to Executives for review with manager.
  • Market events and add creative ideas to communications to entice greater participation.
  • Document medium to large scale deliverables with minimal supervision; will be involved in developing/delivering presentations.

  • Utilize sound judgment in highly active times on projects and event coordination.

  • Assist with the management of change for projects and events.
  • Identify approaches to change management that support program success.
  • Frequently has ideas on development of new improvements. 
  • Assumes responsibility for deliverables and for team results.

Project Management

  • Assists with leading the implementation of complex, medium to large scale projects and events.
  • Ensures that projects are designed to support and implement company goals and strategic objectives.
  • Ability to influence and balance priorities amongst portfolio of projects and events.

Business process

  • Analyze current state processes and data.
  • Help create measures to evaluate programs to ensure our HR initiatives continue to meet their objectives and add significant value to the Firm.
  • Develop Visio diagrams and decks to explain current state and proposals for change.

  • Microsoft Outlook
  • Document Management System (DMS)
  • Proficiency with Visio diagrams a plus
