Essential Job Functions

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are looking for a Branding & Creative Coordinator to join our in-house design team within the Firm’s Business Development/Marketing Department. The mid-level designer will support the associate creative director in global branding and marketing initiatives for external and internal audiences. They will also communicate and collaborate daily with more than 100 diverse problem-solvers and advisers dedicated to the broader business development, marketing and communications efforts of the Firm. Our global business development team provides seamless service to our attorneys with a focus on quality, innovation and responsiveness.

 

The ideal candidate will have strong graphic design, production and problem solving skills to help create engaging marketing materials that align with Kirkland’s corporate aesthetic. They will be an adept team player who is comfortable receiving constructive feedback, executing designs from concept to completion. Having a passion for learning new skills and exploring emerging design/marketing trends is a must. We encourage our designers to pursue professional development opportunities.

The coordinator should understand how the Firm’s brand strategy plays into the global marketing ecosystem and will collaborate closely with the Investment Funds, Litigation, and broader transactional practices along with the Communications and Digital Marketing teams to meet requirements and deadlines for a wide array of projects spanning all offices.

 

SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES

  1. Create engaging digital marketing materials including invitations, animations, advertisements, templates, brochures, presentations and other media in support of the Investment Funds, Litigation and broader transactional practice development
  2. Collaborate with the communications and digital marketing teams to create supporting graphics for the Firm’s social media posts and website content
  3. Know our brand guidelines inside and out — they will be a key brand evangelist
  4. Help maintain the Firm’s templates and guidelines
  5. Help manage the digital asset management library and licensing
  6. Develop working relationships with existing vendors to deliver quality products and troubleshoot as needed
  7. Assist with special requests through the Document Services team
  8. Other projects as assigned

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

At this time, this job operates in a remote environment, but will transition to a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education, Work Experience, Skills

  • A B.A. or B.F.A. in graphic design or related field, with coursework/experience in marketing/communications a plus
  • 3-5 years of agency or in-house experience
  • Thorough understanding of composition, balance, typography and color theory
  • Working knowledge of UX/UI principles and best practices
  • Excellent client service orientation with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines while juggling multiple projects
  • Strict attention to detail — proofreading/editing skills required
  • Strong portfolio that illustrates the ability to deliver designs from concept to completion -- Must include link to portfolio in resume

Technologies/Software

    • Required: Highly proficient in Adobe CC (specifically Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator) and not shy about translating designs into PowerPoint for our general users
  • Experience with audio and video editing (Adobe CC After Effects, Premiere Pro), and digital asset management preferred
    • Experience working in an email marketing platform preferred
  • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS and responsive design preferred
    • Experience preparing print materials for press with knowledge of image quality and resolution, and color profiles are preferred
    • Comfortable in a Windows environment working with Microsoft Office
