Essential Job Functions
The Chicago office is seeking a talent focused Marketing and Communications Coordinator. As part of the Firmwide Legal Recruiting and Development Department (“LRD”), the candidate will support the overall departmental strategy through marketing and communications initiatives. The Coordinator is responsible for supporting the development of visual and written content for print pieces, presentations, annual report, alumni website, internal website, newsletters and internal emails, and ensures that a consistent message is being given throughout. Oversees video and image libraries.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, helping with creating the annual marketing and communications calendar, assisting with developing monthly content themes and generating ongoing content ideas, monthly and ad hoc projects to support various team and Firm functions, and managing multiple projects at a time. This role must be a brand ambassador and help to streamline and assist with creating collateral, as well as help market across all of the Legal Recruiting & Development functions (Recruiting, Training, Development, Concierge, Global Alumni Engagement & CareerLink programs) through various channels including web content, social media, video, printed materials, and events.
As a strategic brand enhancer for the Firm, our LRD efforts are targeted to various audiences. The role of the LRD Marketing & Communications Coordinator is to enhance, streamline, and ensure consistency for all departments under the LRD team umbrella in a targeted manner that accurately reflects Kirkland & Ellis as an industry leader.

Education, Work Experience, Skills
A Bachelor’s degree is required. Law firm or professional services experience is a plus, as is graphic design experience.
Core competencies include the need to think strategically, to prioritize and assign daily work to themselves. The Coordinator must be organized, be able to multi-task, and operate well under time constraints and similar influences. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required, as are the abilities to cultivate collaborative relationships with other Firm departments and co-workers. Experience with content writing and creation is required.
This individual must also possess the ability to meet critical deadlines, interact with users of varying skill level, and be able to manage vendors who help support our marketing and communications efforts.
We are seeking a candidate with at least 5 years of marketing experience.
