Essential Job Functions

The Firmwide Legal Training Delivery Coordinator is an integral member of our Firmwide Legal Recruiting & Development (“LRD”) Department.  Reporting to the Firmwide Litigation Training Portfolio Manager, this coordinator will be a Firmwide resource that actively supports training delivery locally for the Chicago office, as well as for Firmwide training programming at Kirkland. 

The Firmwide Training Delivery Coordinator will serve as a master scheduler, coordinator, and day of event support resource for all Firmwide and Chicago-specific training programming for Litigation, practice retreats, learning lunches and forums.  Additionally, this coordinator will be a first point of contact for Knowledge Management (“KM”) attorneys, other members of the LRD team, and attorney stakeholders regarding logistics for litigation training programming.  Further, in this coordinator’s Firmwide role, they will also serve as a resource for other offices delivering Firmwide training programs.

The Firmwide Training Delivery Coordinator is a highly visible role within the firm and responsible for a broad set of activities. The specific activities this Coordinator is charged with includes the following:

  • Collaborating with other Kirkland offices to coordinate Firmwide litigation training programs
  • Scheduling and coordinating local litigation training programs and coordinating the scheduling of Firmwide programs across non-local offices
  • Partnering with the CLE compliance group to provide appropriate CLE for  attorney training  programs
  • Collaborating with conference services and IT to ensure seamless program delivery
  • Organizing training materials and coordinating distribution
  • Creating and tracking courses within CE Manager
  • Uploading training content, including videos and support materials, to Kirkland’s website
  • Sending invitations and administering surveys for training programs
  • Ordering instructional materials, sending required communications, and collecting and organizing responses
  • Deploying Legal Education and Development programs as assigned
  • Partnering with members of LRD and Leadership where necessary to manage for the continuous improvement of Legal Education and Development
  • Serving as training program and event support for all sessions as needed

Activities designated to our Firmwide Training Delivery Coordinator will continue to evolve and shift as needed based on the needs of LRD strategy or in support of LRD leadership.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education, Work Experience, Skills

The ideal candidate will be highly organized, possess excellent proofing and communication (oral and written) skills; the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment; a very strong attention to detail; and a professional demeanor.  Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships among lawyers and staff to achieve results. 

A Bachelor’s degree is required. Technical experience should include MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.  Experience with LMS or CLE Tracking Platforms (CE Manager) is preferred.
