Essential Job Functions
Kirkland & Ellis is seeking an energetic, organized specialist to support the marketing and business development efforts of the Firmwide investment funds practice in our New York office.
You will handle a variety of functions, including pitches and proposals, events, contact relationship management, branding, business/relationship intelligence, and internal communications.
Reporting to the Business Development (BD) Investment Funds Manager in New York and working closely with a local team of approximately 20 people, this role will also communicate and collaborate daily with the more than 100 diverse problem-solvers and advisers dedicated to the broader BD, marketing and communications efforts of the Firm. Our international marketing team provides seamless service to our attorneys, with a focus on quality, innovation and responsiveness.

Strong organization and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with high-level attorneys, staff and guests of the Firm are a must. You should be able to work independently while making intelligent, informed decisions. We are looking for a true achiever with a drive to succeed. Kirkland demands quality work from every employee (often in high-pressure and deadline-driven scenarios) and a history of taking initiative is essential to success. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, an outgoing and client-friendly personality and the demeanor to interact in a positive and professional manner with clients and potential clients in a variety of settings.
The model candidate will possess outstanding proofreading and communication (oral and written) skills; the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment, very strong attention to detail and a professional demeanor. The position demands meticulous attention to detail, writing and proofing skills, and you need to possess a general facility for learning new software. A Bachelor’s degree is required. Familiarity with the pitch process, a basic understanding of Kirkland’s legal disciplines and/or private equity sector experience would be helpful. Private equity, hedge fund, placement agent or investment banking experience is preferred. Law firm experience will be considered.
