Essential Job Functions

The New York office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP is seeking a Knowledge Services Assistant to provide general administrative support for the US Knowledge Partners and to assist the Knowledge Services team with a variety of tasks involving the maintenance and updating of internal knowledge libraries on SharePoint.


Maintaining and updating knowledge libraries

  • Help Knowledge Partners identify new internally generated knowledge content
  • Request and obtain new knowledge content from attorneys
  • Index and add links to knowledge content on SharePoint knowledge sites
  • Maintain and update directories on SharePoint knowledge sites

Assisting Knowledge Partners with knowledge support for the attorneys in their practice groups

  • Working closely with the Knowledge Partners help prepare and deliver regular legal updates
  • Carry out simple research tasks using internally available legal research databases
  • Provide at desk support for attorneys on using Knowledge libraries and databases

Knowledge related admin tasks

  • Organize suitable dates and send out invites for practice group Knowledge meetings
  • Provide general admin support to the Knowledge Partners as and when required.

Qualifications & Requirements

The ideal candidate will be highly organized, possess very good communication (oral and written) skills; the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment; a very strong attention to detail; and a professional demeanor.  Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships among lawyers and staff to achieve results.  Candidate must be flexible to work overtime as needed.


A Bachelor’s degree is required. Technical experience should include MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel.  Experience of SharePoint would be an advantage but is not essential.
