Essential Job Functions

Kirkland & Ellis is looking for a talented individual to join our Desktop Operations team. In this role, you will engineer and support key desktop technologies used by attorneys and staff throughout the Firm.


  • Manage and support productivity applications including Microsoft Office and related add-ins.
  • Package applications and upgrades for automated deployment using SCCM.  Monitor systems to ensure a successful deployment.
  • Help manage compliance with desktop-related security initiatives including monthly system patching.
  • Seek and deliver on opportunities that improve attorney productivity or streamline operational processes. 
  • Develop documentation and communications targeted toward other IT teams and/or end users. 
  • Provide on-call support on a rotating schedule.

Qualifications & Requirements

Ideal candidates will have a year or more experience engineering solutions in a legal environment or a medium to large enterprise.


  • Administration and use of Microsoft Office and related add-ins. Experience with the use of Office in a legal environment is a plus.
  • Software deployment using Microsoft SCCM.
  • Familiarity with Application packaging such as InstallShield, Auto-It, and Powershell.
  • Ability to define, document, and perform tests that ensure successful outcomes.
  • Willingness to step outside one’s role in order to solve problems or deliver a solution.
  • Desire to produce one’s best work within the constraints of time and expense.
