Essential Job Functions

Kirkland & Ellis LLP is seeking a Director of Wellbeing. Reporting to the Firmwide Director of Benefits and operating as a key member of the Human Resources leadership team, the Director of Wellbeing will advance a culture of wellbeing at Kirkland by leading implementation of Kirkland’s holistic wellbeing program and directing the program on an ongoing basis. Kirkland’s program is designed to support the global Kirkland community and is focused around three core dimensions of wellbeing: resilience, fitness and nutrition, and connection.

  • Identify evolving organizational needs and goals in the area of wellbeing by establishing open lines of communication with key populations and senior leaders.
  • Develop an effective strategy to meet those needs and goals, and refine the strategy over time.
  • Eliminate barriers and promote a holistic approach to developing skills and behaviors that enhance wellbeing.
  • Promote the development of coping skills and strategies that increase resilience.
  • Drive engagement in wellbeing programming and resources through effective communications strategies.
  • Engage in efforts to connect individual attorneys to appropriate resources.
  • Work collaboratively with the Benefits Department to identify appropriate resources to support wellbeing.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on a broad range of matters related to wellbeing.
  • Manage vendors, compile metrics to demonstrate participant engagement and program effectiveness, and coordinate logistics for on-site events.
  • Maintain strict standards of confidentiality in all aspects of the program.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education, Work Experience, Skills

  • MSW, MS or MA in counseling, or similar advanced degree in a related field along with 7-10 years of experience in the field required.
  • Experience working with lawyers or in the legal industry strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills, demonstrated ability to develop and implement programming.
  • Knowledge of varying cultural norms of wellbeing and ability to work across regions globally.
  • This position requires travel to Kirkland offices within and outside of the U.S.
