Essential Job Functions

Kirkland & Ellis LLP is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual for the role of Risk Management Compliance Analyst.  This full-time position in the Risk Management Compliance Department assists the Firm in complying with external regulating bodies.  A Risk Management Compliance Analyst interacts with the entire Risk Management Department including Business Intake Conflicts, Calendar Court Services, and Information Governance and Records Management personnel.

The successful candidate will be able to work both independently and collaboratively, as well as manage strict deadlines.  Qualified candidates will have excellent organizational and communication skills, an analytical mindset, and a customer service orientation. This position requires a strong attention to detail, an ability to handle multiple tasks, and a proficiency with Word, Excel, and the internet.  Must also be skilled at writing and proofreading. 


  • Audit Letters: prepare formal responses to audit inquiry letters from clients, which involves entering, tracking, and assigning letters; maintaining historical information; surveying and compiling responses from attorneys; communicating with auditors and/or clients; conducting database and internet research; and synthesizing, distilling, and compiling information into a comprehensive final response for the client and its auditor. 
  • Attorney Bar Registration: process, monitor, and file attorney bar registration forms for domestic offices, including specialized registrations for tax and intellectual property attorneys.
  • IRS Compliance: monitor internal information about corporate material advisor matters so that relevant data is tracked and filed with the IRS.
  • Lobbying Compliance: file lobbying disclosure reports for any attorney who functions as a lobbyist.
  • FINRA and SEC Compliance: conduct research and collect data to assist in the preparation of responses to inquiries from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
  • Special projects as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education, Work Experience, Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of work experience is required.  Paralegal or regulatory experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Able to manage and meet strict deadlines
  • Exhibit superior organizational skills
  • Possess excellent communication skills, especially in writing, customer service, and proofreading
  • Can work overtime, particularly during our busy season of January through April


  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and the internet.
