Essential Job Functions

POSITION OVERVIEW

As a member of the Firmwide Legal Recruiting and Development Department, the Dallas Legal Recruiting, Training & Development Coordinator will work with all aspects of Legal Recruiting and Development/Training programs under the direction of the Legal Recruiting Manager. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: coordination most aspects of the summer program, fall recruiting, lateral hiring, new associate and lateral orientation and onboarding, Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) tracking, attorney training such as the Kirkland Institute of Corporate Practice (KICP) and Leadership and Management Training, Associate Review process and diversity-related programming.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented and changed as necessary.)

Recruiting Duties

Summer Program:

  • Onboard Summer Associates including processing of new hire paperwork and conduct orientation
  • Recommend and execute summer events and training programs
  • Coordinate summer associate review process

Fall Recruiting:

  • Enter/track all candidates in vi Desktop
  • Recommend, plan, and coordinate logistics for on-campus interviews including OCI registration and preparing OCI Binders for attorney on-campus interviewers
  • Schedule callback interviews and correspond with callback candidates pre and post-interview
  • Create interview schedules for candidates
  • Process candidate and law firm expense reimbursements
  • Coordinate Diversity Fellowship
  • Prepare recruiting statistics as needed

New Associate Onboarding:

  • Onboard lateral hires including processing of new hire paperwork, conducting orientation, integration

Lateral Hiring:

  • Enter/track all candidates in vi Desktop
  • Schedule callback interviews and correspond with callback candidates pre and post-interview
  • Create interview schedules for candidates
  • Process candidate and law firm expense reimbursements
  • Onboard lateral hires including processing of new hire paperwork, conducting orientation, integration

Training and CLE Duties

  • Track CLE using CE Manager including periodic reminders to attorneys of their registration and approaching CLE deadline. 
  • Research CLE training programs to assist attorneys in completion of CLE requirement.
  • File extensions with the Texas CLE Board as needed. 
  • Compile the year-end CLE report to the Texas CLE Board.

Attorney Training

  • Recommend and coordinate local training programs, including client-related programs
  • Coordinate with partner presenters to schedule training dates, and work with them to get all materials ready for presentations. 
  • Coordinate planning and logistics for Summer Associate training
  • Coordinate all the local office logistics including sending invitations/ reminders/updates, making sure the room, technology and food are set for the training, distribute materials/handouts and handle CLE sign-ins and credits. 
  • Occasionally includes off-site client programs, interface with the partner presenters to ensure that their presentation meets the CLE criteria (materials, agenda, bios, sign in sheets, evaluations, length of presentation).  Issue CLE certificates to clients after the training program.

Professional Development Duties

  • Recommend and execute diversity and Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI) programming and events for both
  • Coordinate logistics for Leadership & Management trainings as needed including conference room reservations, meals, invitations, preparing materials, etc.
  • Coordinate the Associate Review Process using the Associate Review database
  • Coordinate the attorney mentor program

  • Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications & Requirements

Education, Work Experience, Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a legal environment
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, project management and organizational skills
  • The ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, high pressure environment
  • Flexibility to work overtime is a must.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This job operates in a professional office environment.
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
