Essential Job Functions

  • Revise, format, proofread and blackline documents
  • Convert documents from various formats to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and format according to the firm’s standard format
  • Insert/revise Table of Authorities and format SEC documents, including financials
  • Execute defined terms checks and revise cross-referencing in large briefs
  • Download, organize and print data sites
  • Assist with answering Help Desk calls
  • Perform Digital Services tasks, such as printing/binding/indexing of documents
  • Assist with any off-hours requests, including those ordinarily handled by different departments
  • Available to work overtime, as needed

Qualifications & Requirements

The New York office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP is seeking a Word Processor.  The qualified candidate will have 3+ years of experience as a word processor in a legal or financial services organization.  Expert knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Acrobat, OmniPage, and Outlook is required, as well as a minimum typing speed of 60 wpm.  The successful candidate will have an excellent work ethic and strong teamwork skills in a high volume, minimally staffed environment.  Must be flexible, organized, and be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines with a calm, pleasant demeanor.  Must be able to work with minimal supervision, make independent, well-thought-out decisions and troubleshoot documents as well as software issues.  Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with attorneys, staff and clients.  A college degree or business certification is preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered.  Graphics experience is a plus.

The shift for this position is Saturday & Sunday 8:00 pm - 9:00 am; Monday 8:00 pm - 8:00 am
