Essential Job Functions

The Senior Financial Analyst will be focused on the development of pricing proposals in response to client demands, while remaining consistent with the Firm’s strategy and profitability goals. This role will be a key contributor in activities relating to billing rate and alternative fee arrangement administration as well as profitability analysis on client fixed fee matters. The Senior Financial Analyst will interact with attorneys, clients, and the billing team.   


  • Support the creation, evaluation, and execution of economic models to project the financial impact of proposed pricing models with the objective of driving improvement in the Firm’s pricing outcomes and profitability.
  • Provide financial analysis in relation to the development of pricing alternatives in response to client requests. Assess the profitability and market competitiveness of various pricing options and provide recommendations to Partners, CFO, and Director, Planning and Analysis.
  • Develop monthly reporting on alternative fee arrangements and fixed fee analysis.
  • Conduct detailed post matter financial analysis, utilizing historical data and insights to assist in the pricing of future matters and improving financial performance.
  • Develop innovative analytical approaches and recommend enhancements in relation to pricing, matter estimates and profitability, post matter analysis, and competitor intelligence.
  • Assist with the proactive identification of issues with existing pricing arrangements and propose methods to rectify those issues.
  • Actively participate in/contribute to system and process re-engineering efforts; recognize/assess the downstream impacts of process changes.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • At least 6 years of experience in accounting and/or finance, showing progressive growth in responsibilities. A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (or comparable experience) is required. CPA status or an MBA is desirable, but not required.
  • Experience in professional services pricing, negotiations, and related areas is critical. Previous experience in a professional services firm, preferably in a law firm is essential.
  • Strong accounting, analytical, research, and conceptual thinking skills are required. The ability to work with intricate data, while maintaining an awareness of the overall objective and how all the relevant data points fit together is critical.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills are required and the individual must be proactive and results oriented. Attention to detail and the eagerness to learn and to progress within a dynamic and growing environment are imperative. Individuals are expected to exhibit strong customer service skills and a commitment to excellence.
  • Candidates should possess strong written and oral communication skills in order to clearly and concisely summarize observations, conclusions, and recommendations. The successful candidate will be capable of working with all levels of Firm personnel, both as part of a team and independently.


  • MS Office with emphasis on Advanced Excel skills and PowerPoint presentation experience; knowledge of SQL a plus
  • General accounting software and database software, with an existing understanding of relational database concepts
