Essential Job Functions

The Tax Analyst will support the Director of Taxes and the Tax Accounting Manager in the preparation and review of partnership and other business tax returns, estimates, extensions, and provide support for inquiries from various tax authorities. The Tax Analyst will have exposure to various multistate and international tax matters. This individual will work with both internal and external parties and must be able to handle multiple projects concurrently.


  • Prepare state level partnership tax returns, various other business tax returns and extensions, and the Firm’s Foundation returns.
  • Assist in the preparation of the Firm’s international tax returns and provide oversight and review of tax filings and payments for the Firm’s non-US offices.
  • Assist in the preparation of various monthly and quarterly partnership filings throughout the year.
  • Provide quarterly estimated tax calculations.
  • Maintain U.S. and international tax books and records.
  • Support the Tax Accounting Manager and Director of Taxes in various tax research projects and the preparation and issuance of various memoranda related to those projects throughout the year.
  • Assist in gathering information necessary to support inquiries from various taxing authorities.
  • Liaise with outside tax consultants on various tax studies.
  • Calculate state composite / withholding tax deductions and maintain related tracking schedules.
  • Maintain temporary difference inventory, tax basis schedules.
  • Analyze capital acquisitions for proper tax treatment, assist in cost segregation studies.
  • Assist with implementation of tax planning opportunities, process efficiencies and quality improvements.
  • Monitor current and proposed US & international tax law changes to assess impact to the partnership and partners.
  • Documentation of tax policies and procedures.
  • Other related duties and projects as required.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • The Tax Analyst will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, with at least two years of experience in a “Big 4” of other National CPA firm. Tax experience with a law firm/professional services firm with both U.S. and International operations as well as experience with partnership/flow-through entities is preferred. 
  • This individual should be proactive, results oriented, and have the ability to communicate with personnel at all levels.
  • The ability to collaborate and effectively facilitate information sharing within Finance and other functions within the Firm to meet sensitive tax filing deadlines through the year is required.
  • The candidate needs to be a critical thinker who possesses a high level of intellectual curiosity, while at the same time is comfortable navigating the details involved with the tax function and its responsibilities.
