Essential Job Functions


The Firmwide Human Resources (“HR”) Assistant is responsible for providing assistance to the Firmwide HR & Development team in multiple HR areas including compensation, talent development, employee relations and day-to-day administrative assistance to the Chief Human Resources Officer (“CHRO”). This individual will partner with Firmwide HR management team, including the CHRO, to assist in compiling and distributing reports, updating databases, planning and executing projects throughout the year.This position works primary with staff (non-attorney) human resources, but will have opportunities to work on some attorney facing projects.

This position requires strong organizational and time management skills, and proven success in data analytics, project management and taking initiative.


  • Help create and maintain database of firm wide salary ranges
  • Provide essential support in completing the year-end staff salary and bonus process
  • Assist in tracking, completing and submitting salary surveys
  • Schedule regular learning programs and manage overall learning calendar including booking conference space, scheduling video conferences and sending calendar invitations
  • Program manage large learning conferences and initiatives by tracking registration, printing materials, securing space, organizing large group events and administering/analyzing evaluations
  • Review and brand Talent Development slide decks
  • Help to design, implement and maintain the Kirkland Leadership Academy through SharePoint and a Learning Management System
  • Manage all required compliance training (e.g., Anti-Harassment Training, Anti-Bribery Training) Firmwide
  • Monitor costs, assist in developing the budget and prepare budget reports for Firmwide HR department
  • Provide administrative support to CHRO, including answering phones, taking messages and scheduling meetings
  • Other functions/duties as assigned

Qualifications & Requirements

Education, Work Experience, Skills

  • Undergraduate degree in related field and at least 1 year of related experience required
  • Clearly articulate information both verbally and in written form
  • Ability to analyze and summarize data
  • Highly motivated with ability to motivate others
  • Established organizational skills with ability to effectively manage multiple priorities
  • High degree of integrity and professionalism
  • Able to communicate effectively with managers and senior staff in a variety of business units
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills
  • Possess strong time management and project management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment


  • Strong knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel required.  Familiarity with Word, Access and Sharepoint preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of document management system (e.g., iManage) and PeopleSoft preferred
  • Experience with learning technologies (e.g., eLearning technologies such as Articulate or Captivate; presentation software such as Prezi) preferred
  • Working knowledge of Survey Monkey preferred
