Essential Job Functions

The Sr IAM Operations Engineer I role will be focused on the implementation and support of modern Customer and Enterprise IAM systems within Kirkland & Ellis infrastructure as well as the implementation of potential new IAM products and/or features. This is a senior-level position that requires a deep understanding of IAM principles, protocols, and standard methodologies. This engineer will be responsible for reviewing implementations of existing products, determining improvements, building roadmaps, and implementing the updates to improve the overall IAM workflows.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented and changed as necessary.)

  • Lead and provide support for the implementation and administration of IAM platforms.
  • Maintain IAM policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Work with Security Governance, Risk Management and other departments as needed.
  • Will assist in the administration, maintenance, and day-to-day operation of Kirkland’s IAM, directory, e-mail, and telephony systems as they relate to user identity.
  • Coordinates with Human Resources for on/off boarding of all personnel.
  • Occasionally provides technical support to end users. Must have excellent troubleshooting and customer service skills.
  • Appropriately inform and advise management on incidents and incident prevention.
  • Participate in knowledge sharing with other engineers and develop solutions efficiently.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education, Work Experience, Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working in a legal or professional services environment a plus.
  • Expert knowledge of business, security and IAM technologies and approaches.
  • Ability to handle privileged and sensitive information in a confidential manner.

Technologies/Software

  • An authoritative level of understanding of Identity & Access Management, Single Sign-On, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and Authentication, Identity Governance & Administration concepts.
  • 7+ years of Active Directory management and security.
  • Advanced experience with Azure AD/Entra, roles, RBAC and PIM.
  • Experience with O365, Intune and related technologies.
  • Experience with Delinea (PAM) and/or Veza (Identity Governance) tools a plus.
  • Experience with using PowerShell scripting and the ability to read code.
  • Familiarity with Outlook/Exchange and an understanding of mail routing.
  • Experience with Windows file/folder security and understanding of DFS.
  • Knowledge of DNS, DHCP, IP Addressing, network technologies and routing.

Certificates, Licensures, Registrations

  • CIAM, CISA, CISM or CISSP all a plus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job may operate in a hybrid workplace model. In office work is in a professional office environment and a high-speed internet connection is required to connect to our systems when working in a home office. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and mobile devices.
