Essential Job Functions

As a member of the Firmwide Legal Recruiting & Development Department (“LRD”), the Firmwide Legal Recruiting Coordinator will provide support to the campus legal recruiting efforts across the entire organization. 

The ideal candidate will possess excellent oral and written communication skills; be a team player; demonstrate strong client service; have the utmost respect for confidentiality and attention to detail; work independently and be able to follow up with minimal instructions; have the ability to prioritize work and work on multiple projects in a fast paced environment; interact with potential recruits, attorneys and business service professionals at all levels of the Firm’s business; have strong organizational skills, demonstrate initiative, work under pressure, and deal with demanding deadlines.  Individual must have the ability to work overtime.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented and changed as necessary.)

On-Campus Recruiting

  • Liaise with law schools on aspects of student recruitment, including registration for Firmwide on-campus interview schedules, job fairs and resume collections
  • Staff on campus interviewers and prepare materials
  • Coordinate across offices on outcomes following interviews
  • Schedule screening and callback interviews
  • Follow up with attorneys for interview feedback
  • Maintain data in ViDesktop with a keen eye toward data integrity, create and pull reports on same to track school-specific and practice group specific recruiting outcomes and analyze trends
  • Research and maintain school information charts, including CSO contacts, transcript release dates, finals dates, etc.
  • Coordinate candidate follow-up
  • Coordinate and attend recruitment events
  • Process Symplicity employer feedback forms
  • Prepare Firmwide 1L and 2L Post-Recruiting surveys, aggregate and analyze results
  • Support local office recruiting teams as needed

Campus Outreach

  • Coordinate law school and law student outreach including panels, podcast series, presentations, receptions, mentoring programs, etc.
  • Coordinate student group sponsorship requests
  • Set up and monitor events in Flo Recruit
  • Work with marketing team to update campus engagement materials
  • Track post-event attorney feedback in Vi
  • Maintain FW Event Tracking chart

Other

  • Train temps and interns, when applicable
  • Maintain recruiting timelines for events and projects
  • Assist with updating team OneNote binders
  • Collect and put together team meeting agenda items and recaps
  • Monitor team mailbox and respond to candidates, attorneys, CSO teams and team members in a timely manner
  • Assist with purchase of Kirkland branded gifts and giveaways
  • Respond to inquiries from attorneys/staff, as needed
  • Provide administrative support
  • Process check requests and expense reports
  • Generate surveys using Novi Survey tool
  • Support Summer Associate Program, Summer and New Associate Orientation, and other LRD initiatives as needed
  • Respond actively, thoroughly and courteously to the needs of clients and internal requests within the firm; volunteer time and knowledge; work effectively and willingly with others
  • Other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education, Work Experience, Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3+ years of experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services setting
  • Experience with Symplicity, Flo Recruit and ViDesktop preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills required.

Compensation: 

The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. This range may differ based on your experience and skill set, geographic location, and cost of living considerations. At Kirkland & Ellis, we consider compensation more than just a base salary. We also offer an exceptional range of flexible benefits, personal support and tailored learning and development opportunities all designed to help you realize your full potential both in life and at work.

  • New York City - $70,000 -$96,000
