Essential Job Functions

  • The Document Services team is seeking an experienced Operator with high efficiency and technical acumen.  The ideal candidate must possess strong attention to details and be a proactive team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Must be able to decipher and analyze instructions regarding detailed work requests and projects.  Candidate must be flexible and exhibit ownership over the advancement of skillsets and status updates on work product.
  • The schedule for this position is Monday through Wednesday 5:30 pm – 3:30 am; Thursday 5:30 pm – 2:30 am (Eastern Time).  Flexibility to work overtime on an as needed basis.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented and changed as necessary.)

  • Expertly revise, format, compare and cross-reference documents, including complex UK documents
  • Convert documents from various formats to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio, while adhering to the Firm’s standard best practices
  • Generate and update/revise Tables of Authorities
  • Convert and reformat SEC documents, including financial tables, according to the Firm’s standard best practices
  • Execute defined terms checks and reformat documents utilizing the Firm’s standards and tools
  • Modify, compile, and redact PDFs; create forms, e-closing binders and bookmarks in Adobe Acrobat
  • Create, revise, and reformat PowerPoint presentations, maintaining Firm branding standards
  • Create and modify organizational charts, flowcharts and timelines in Visio and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with Excel, including reformatting, setting up for printing, and basic formulas and charts
  • Provide technical support to clients, including software troubleshooting

Qualifications & Requirements

Education, Work Experience, Skills

  • A college degree or business certification is preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered.
  • 3+ years of experience as a word processor in a legal or financial services organization is required.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment while maintaining a professional demeanor and providing exceptional customer service.

  • Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Adobe Acrobat, OmniPage, Nuance Power PDF, Litera (Compare and Best Authority), DocXtools, and Outlook.

Compensation: 

 The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. This range may differ based on your experience and skill set, geographic location, and cost of living considerations. At Kirkland & Ellis, we consider compensation more than just a base salary. We also offer an exceptional range of flexible benefits, personal support and tailored learning and development opportunities all designed to help you realize your full potential both in life and at work.

  • Washington D.C. - $75,000 -$112.500
  • New York City - $75,000 - $110,000
  • Los Angeles - $75,000 - $105,000
  • Bay Area - $ 75,000 -$112,500
