Essential Job Functions

       The Pro Bono Assistant will support Kirkland’s Firmwide Director of Pro Bono and the program as a whole with scheduling, metrics reporting, project monitoring and tracking, and other projects as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented and changed as necessary.)

  • Learns and becomes team expert on Pro Bono data management solution; maintain pro bono databases and tracking systems; support pro bono team in running reports and responding to internal data requests; supports efforts to optimize and streamline processes, reducing manual intervention, and enhancing efficiency
  • Conduct audits to support risk management activities of pro bono practice, such as follow up on matters that have stalled/not billed
  • Administrative duties such as, but not limited to, identifying accurate billing accounts for misclassified expenses, inbox and calendar management, manages practice's intranet site, support firmwide projects in an administrative capacity; aggregate data in Excel and organize for analysis

Qualifications & Requirements

Education, Work Experience, Skills

The FW Pro Bono Practice Assistant reports to the Senior Manager, FW Pro Bono Operations. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, flexible and adaptable, possess excellent problem-solving skills, have the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, be able to meet concrete deadlines, have a can-do attitude, and be a solid team player. All candidates for this role are required to provide a writing sample detailing their interest in the position upon application.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a professional environment
  • Demonstrated Excel and data analysis skills
  • Curiosity and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate with attorneys and staff at all levels of the Firm effectively and appropriately
  • Client service orientation
  • Aptitude at maintaining positive relationships
  • High level of organization skills with particular strength in multitasking
  • Flexibility regarding tasks and assignments
  • Familiarity with standard office technology applications such as the Microsoft suite of products
