Essential Job Functions

The Dallas office is looking to add a Legal Recruiting Assistant to provide strategic support to the Non-Lateral (Campus) recruiting efforts of the Dallas office. This individual will join a dynamic local team which partners closely with our other Texas offices, Austin and Houston, as well as the broader Firmwide Legal Recruiting and Development (LRD) department.

The ideal candidate will be an adept and proactive team player with strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Relationships are important so we are looking for someone to build connections among attorneys and staff; this position requires the ability to exercise independent judgment and confidentiality

Specific Job Duties (This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented and changed as necessary.)

Recruiting

  • Assist with fall on-campus interviewing administration including: 
  • Entering and maintaining all candidate information into Firm’s database
  • Processing candidate expense reports
  • Preparing materials for on-campus interviews and callback meetings
  • Generating offer and rejection letters
  • Communicate with applicants to schedule interviews, and assist with callbacks
  • Greet applicants and escort them to and from in-office interviews
  • Assist in executing outreach events on campus
  • Ensuring receipt of applicant materials for all candidates
  • Assist in the Summer Associate Program, including: 
  • Creating the Summer Associate picture book
  • Preparing summer associate mailings
  • Managing and processing all summer associate paperwork
  • Preparing files for mid-summer/end of summer reviews
  • Preparing orientation materials
  • Tracking event RSVPs
  • Creating event materials/marketing (invitations, nametags, etc)
  • Assists with planning summer events
  • Attending summer events outside of business hours, as needed
  • Prepare surveys to track feedback and progress throughout the summer
  • Process and manage expenses and budget, as needed

Qualifications & Requirements

Education, Work Experience, Skills

A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and at least 1+ years of experience in an office setting is required; experience working for a law firm is preferred.  Technical experience should include MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 

The ideal candidate will be highly organized, possess excellent proofing and communication (oral and written) skills; the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment; a very strong attention to detail; and a professional demeanor.  Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships among lawyers and staff to achieve results. 

This position requires collaboration with attorneys and staff and the ability to exercise independent judgment. It also requires a significant amount of overtime during our busy summer and fall seasons.
