Our Finance and Billing team is at the heart of this success, ensuring that every process runs smoothly. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Revenue Assistant to join our team. This entry-level role offers hands-on experience in billing and collections, working closely with top legal professionals. Position Overview:

As a Revenue Assistant, you will play a crucial role in our billing process, working alongside attorneys, the Revenue team, and clients. You’ll assist with preparing and processing client invoices, ensuring timely payments, and helping manage accounts receivable. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for finance, strong organizational skills, and a desire to grow within the finance discipline and a prestigious firm. Training will be provided to help you succeed and grow your expertise in legal billing.

The position is in our LA Downtown office but offers flexibility to work remotely most days.

What You’ll Do:

  • Support Billing Operations:
Assist with the preparation and processing of client invoices, ensuring that all billing is accurate, timely, and compliant with client guidelines.
  • Track and Monitor Receivables:
Keep a close eye on outstanding invoices and unbilled fees. You'll work with attorneys and the Revenue team to ensure timely collections and proactive follow-up.
  • Collaborate with Key Teams:
Work closely with attorneys, partners, and the Revenue team to address billing inquiries and ensure all client-driven requests are managed efficiently.
  • Generate and Review Proformas:
At the start of each month, you’ll assist with generating Proformas, ensuring time entries are correctly allocated, and making necessary edits based on client or partner feedback.
  • E-Billing Operations:
Learn to manage electronic billing submissions using LEDES files and eBillingHub. You’ll troubleshoot issues and ensure successful invoice submissions.
  • Assist with Collection Efforts:
Help monitor accounts receivable, coordinate with clients to resolve payment issues, and collaborate with financial managers to track collections.
  • Continuous Learning:
Gain hands-on experience with financial management tools and software such as Elite 3E and electronic billing systems. This is a great opportunity to build your finance and billing skills.

Qualifications & Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • Previous billing experience in a law firm or professional services company is a plus but not required; training will be provided.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Eager to learn new systems and processes.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation: 

The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. This range may differ based on your experience and skill set, geographic location, and cost of living considerations. At Kirkland & Ellis, we consider compensation more than just a base salary. We also offer an exceptional range of flexible benefits, personal support and tailored learning and development opportunities all designed to help you realize your full potential both in life and at work.

  • Los Angeles - $62,000 - $75,000
