Essential Job Functions

  • We are seeking a Senior Engineer to advance our firm's initiatives in legal technology innovation. This role is focused on the advanced configuration and optimal utilization of legal technology solutions, in collaboration with the practice innovation and e-discovery teams. The position involves proactive engagement with vendors and internal teams to ensure that solutions fully leverage the potential and efficiencies of applications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented and changed as necessary.)

  • Advanced Solution Configuration: Work closely with the innovation and e-discovery teams to expertly configure technology solutions to meet the firm's advanced requirements.
  • Integration Leadership: Lead the seamless integration of diverse data sources, including cloud and on-premises environments, into SaaS platforms.
  • Vendor Management and Guidance: Build and maintain strong relationships with technology vendors. Provide expert guidance to align them with our firm's technological standards and best practices, focusing on maximizing application efficiencies.
  • Senior Technical Support: Provide Level 3 support for our suite of applications and take the lead in resolving complex Level 2 support issues.
  • System Enhancement Oversight: Manage system upgrades and conversions, ensuring they are in sync with non-IT business sectors.
  • Governance and Compliance Leadership: Ensure the firm's stringent security and governance standards are upheld across all applications.
  • Advanced Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to system configurations, troubleshooting, and integration methods.
  • Project Management: Serve as primary subject matter expert for technology projects within your purview, and occasionally running project logistics.
  • Operational Support Leadership: Provide robust operational support, with on-call responsibilities shared among senior team members.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education, Work Experience, Skills

  • The Senior Application Engineer must hold a BA/BS in computer science or a related field, or possess equivalent experience, with 8+ years of experience in advanced application support/configuration and innovation-focused roles.
  • The ideal candidate must demonstrate exceptional judgment, problem-solving abilities, and communication skills, both oral and written. They should be adept at working in a fast-paced environment, building positive working relationships, and exhibit strong leadership qualities. Additionally, candidates must be highly self-motivated, organized, and capable of multitasking and effectively prioritizing competing demands.
  • Experience with Linux and light coding tasks, including Rest API, is required.
  • Proficiency in SQL Query is required.
  • Expertise in integrating on-prem and cloud data sources with SaaS and on-prem applications is required.
  • Strong experience with e-discovery applications is highly preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Powershell scripting is preferred.


  • E-Discovery Case Management Applications (ie. Relativity, Reveal, etc.), Innovation applications trending in legal tech today and in the future (ie. closing book automation, document automation, Generative AI, etc).
