Essential Job Functions

Kirkland & Ellis is seeking a Data Assistant to support the efforts of the Marketing Experience Management team within the Firm’s Business Development & Marketing (BD) function. You will serve as a valuable resource to the team and be responsible for the research, collection, database entry and maintenance of historical and current deal and case experience in a marketing-ready format.

This role has a strong focus on the research and analysis of case and deal documents, press releases, news items, and information from a variety internal and external market intelligence and legal research platforms. You will need to be comfortable in an internal database environment and have the ability to simply and concisely convey complex information.

We are looking for an exceptional communicator and critical thinker with a history of taking initiative and a genuine intellectual curiosity. You will possess excellent organizational and project management skills, outstanding editing and proofing skills, the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment, a strong attention to detail and a professional and polished demeanor. You will be oriented toward continuous improvement – of both your own work product and of the team as a whole.

You will report to the Director of Marketing Experience Management and will work closely with other team members. You will also communicate and collaborate daily with approximately 160 diverse problem-solvers and advisers dedicated to the broader business development, marketing and communications efforts of the Firm. Our international business development team provides seamless service to our attorneys with a focus on quality, innovation and responsiveness.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Engage in thoughtful, comprehensive research of the Firm's deal and case experience across a wide breadth of industries, geographies and matter types using a variety of internal and external resources, including PACER, Westlaw, Bloomberg, The Deal Pipeline, CapIQ, Deal Point, ThomsonOne, Corporate Affiliations, Pitchbook and others.
  • Accurately capture and maintain comprehensive deals and cases in the Firm's marketing experience database.
  • Maintain the integrity of all data through regular database audits.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Marketing Experience Management and Practice Development teams to refine and improve the existing database.

OTHER FUNCTIONS

  • Assist with various other marketing initiatives that intersect with other functional areas within the marketing context.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education, Work Experience, Skills

Required

  • Strong organizational and project management skills, including the ability to prioritize and execute a diverse range of tasks with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with high-level attorneys, clients, staff and guests of the Firm.
  • Meticulous data entry, writing and proofing skills and a general facility for learning new software.
  • Solid command of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint).
  • Bachelor’s degree

Preferred

  • One to two years’ experience in a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Experience with CRM/experience database software (e.g., Content Pilot, InterAction, Salesforce, etc.)
  • Experience with market intelligence and legal research platforms, including PACER, Westlaw, BoardEx, Rel Sci, Capital IQ, ThomsonOne, Preqin, Manzama, The Deal Pipeline, Pitchbook and Corporate Affiliations
