Essential Job Functions
The Technology Training Specialist is responsible for delivering training to all attorneys and staff on how to best use the Firm’s technology to enable their success. Training is to be conducted in alignment with Firm policies, Firmwide training standards, procedures and guidelines and reporting key success indicators. Training delivery includes, but may not be limited to, virtual, classroom training, webinars, individual coaching, support, and document troubleshooting. Using our approved templates, layout, and branding, the candidate must be able to create basic troubleshooting documentation, along with detailed step-by-step instruction for the Kirkland user. Training is delivered following standardized firmwide lesson plans that include knowledge of Microsoft Office products, proper use of Word to construct legal documents and the use of Document Management is essential along with the ability to proactively learn new applications quickly, proficiently, and independently.
Training in this role will include new hire computer orientation, software upgrades and deployments, and on-going skills enhancement. Other job responsibilities include needs assessment, change management planning, application testing, support, and other project work as required. The position is an exempt position and, as such, will require availability to work overtime to train evening staff and participate in Firmwide initiatives. The position is based in Washington D.C. but works with a global team to deliver training anywhere in the world, either by audio/video conferencing or in person.
Three or more years of professional training in Legal is preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills on administrative matters is essential in addition to the use of those skills for training/knowledge sharing purposes. The ideal candidate must project a professional, engaging demeanor and provide a positive, high-energy learning experience.
