Essential Job Functions

As a Technology Resource Allocation Manager, you will play a critical role in optimizing and allocating resource of Kirkland & Ellis to ensure efficient operations and project execution. You will be responsible for strategically planning, coordinating, and managing resources to meet project deadlines, budget constraints, and organizational goals. This role requires strong organizational skills, communication abilities, and a keen understanding of resource allocation.

The Technology Resource Allocation Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring that K&E’s resources (both full time employees and 3rd party resources) are effectively utilized, enabling us to achieve our strategic objectives and deliver successful projects. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented and changed as necessary.)

  1. Resource Allocation:
    • Collaborate with business leads and project managers to determine resource requirements for ongoing and upcoming projects.
    • Allocate human resources, including employees, contractors, and freelancers, based on project needs and team availability.
  2. Capacity Planning:
    • Monitor resource utilization and capacity, identifying areas of overallocation or underutilization.
    • Develop and implement strategies for optimizing resource allocation, ensuring maximum productivity.
    • Forecast resource needs and make recommendations for hiring, training, or outsourcing as necessary.
  3. Schedule Management:
    • Create and maintain detailed resource schedules, ensuring that project deadlines and milestones are met.
    • Adjust resource allocations as project priorities change and communicate changes to relevant stakeholders.
    • Coordinate with project managers to resolve scheduling conflicts and resource constraints.
  4. Resource Tracking and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of resource allocation, utilization, and costs.
    • Generate regular reports and dashboards to provide visibility into resource allocation and performance.
    • Identify trends and make data-driven recommendations for resource optimization.
  5. Stakeholder Communication:
    • Foster effective communication and collaboration among project teams, department heads, and senior management.
    • Act as a liaison between project managers and resource providers to address resource-related issues and concerns.
    • Present resource utilization reports and recommendations to leadership.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education, Work Experience, Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in business management, project management, or a related field.
  • 5 years minimum experience
  • Proven experience in resource management or a similar role, preferably in a project-based organization.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Proficiency in resource management software and tools.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Problem-solving mindset and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Attention to detail where needed.
