Essential Job Functions

We are looking for a Learning and Development Specialist to join our talented team working to revolutionize the support structure of our law firm through the development of next‐generation, and education and knowledge transfer avenues of our Practice Assistant Department. Our team is dynamic, fast‐paced, collaborative, and innovative. The preferred candidate is a strategic thinker, a creative problem solver, and a passionate advocate for continuous learning and professional development.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented and changed as necessary.)

  • Assist in the design and development of innovative, engaging, and effective learning programs, including instructor-led training, e-learning modules, virtual classrooms, and workshops, with a key focus on the holistic needs of the firmwide Practice Assistant department to support the attorneys.
  • Conduct comprehensive needs assessments to identify skill gaps and training requirements across the organization.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders, subject matter experts, and external vendors to ensure the delivery of high-quality learning solutions that adhere to the needs of the organization and strategy.
  • Participate in training activities to increase personal skill levels and improve overall understanding of learning and development.
  • Promote and advance the learning culture throughout the department.
  • Participate in or lead learning project teams to build positive, collaborative partnerships among business stakeholders, SMEs, and other firmwide business units.
  • Develop and update training resources, including facilitator guides, participant workbooks, job aids, multimedia presentations, and online learning resources and learning programs.
  • Facilitate training sessions and workshops, both in-person and virtually.
  • Make recommendations on future improvements to content management, workflow processes, and user experience.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education, Work Experience, Skills

  • BS/AS Degree or applicable professional experience preferred.
  • 3+ years involved in the business aspects of a legal firm preferred.
  • Passion for developing and supporting people with a strong customer service mindset.
  • Familiarity with various learning methodologies, such as ADDIE, blended learning, and microlearning.
  • Experience with learning analytics and data analysis to measure training effectiveness.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to identify training needs, evaluate learning outcomes, and propose data-driven improvements.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities. Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proven experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, building relationships with stakeholders, and managing vendor relationships.

Technologies/Software

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
