Essential Job Functions

The litigation legal analyst is responsible for managing all aspects of litigation cases, including management of documents on the DMS, preparation of filings, e-Discovery management and multi-tasking and prioritizing projects. Team oriented with a collaborative focus.  A JD is required for this position.

Essential Functions: (This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented and changed as necessary.)

 Manages full cycle of litigation cases and related documents:

  • Coordinates logistics and preparation of materials for Court filings, hearings, arbitrations, and trials
  • Manages process of eDiscovery and related tasks
  • Researches local rules of procedure for relevant court venues, obtains information relating to venue; obtains precedent from other cases in same venue
  • Drafts routine filings (e.g. attorney appearances, notices of filings, notices of motions, pleadings)
  • Reviews legal cites for proper format, content and standing (Westlaw, Lexis; Blue Book)
  • Manages and executes electronic court filing and related documents

 Interacts with outside entities (clients, court personnel, witnesses, consultants)

  • Sets up and manages trial related support (e.g. remote office setup, war room and logistics)
  • Prepares documents relating to hearings, arbitrations and trials
  • Compiles and tracks trial exhibits

  • Any other functions/duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education, Work Experience, Skills:

The ideal candidate will possess 4-5 years of experience preferably in a law firm handling complex litigation, supervising teams, preparing for trial, and managing trial support.  Candidates must have strong interpersonal and communication skills, project management, analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.  Skilled in getting things done and overcoming obstacles to reach the goal, flexible in adapting to constantly changing priorities. The ability to work effectively in a team environment is required.   JD is required.  Flexibility to accommodate for travel and overtime is required.  Ability to lift up to 25 pounds is required.

Technologies/Software:

  • MS Office proficiency and DMS required
  • Electronic filing and Pacer Pro proficiency required; ability to electronically file documents in federal and state courts
  • Knowledge of Relativity, Westlaw, and SharePoint is a plus
