Essential Job Functions

Position Overview: 

The Los Angeles office is seeking a Legal Recruiting Coordinator as part of the Firmwide Legal Recruiting & Development Department.  The Legal Recruiting Coordinator will provide support to the legal recruiting efforts of the Los Angeles office. 

The ideal candidate will possess excellent oral and written communication skills; be a team player; demonstrate strong client service; have the utmost respect for confidentiality and attention to detail; work independently and be able to follow up with minimal instructions; have the ability to prioritize work and work on multiple projects in a fast paced environment; interact with potential recruits, attorneys and staff at all levels of the Firm’s business; strong organizational skills, demonstrate initiative and work under pressure and deal with demanding deadlines.  Individual must have the ability to work overtime.

Essential Functions: (This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented and changed as necessary.)

Summer Associate Program

  • Coordinate Summer Associate orientation
  • Plan, coordinate and attend events
  • Track Summer Program budget
  • Liaise between the Summer Associates and the attorneys and staff

Fall Recruiting

  • Coordinate rising 2L receptions
  • Coordinate offer dinners, pre-OCI receptions
  • Manage write-in/resume collection process
  • Assist in preparation for offer decision meetings
  • Assist with high volume of interview scheduling
  • Maintain ViDesktop records

Other

  • Assist with New Associate Orientation as needed
  • Assist with 1L application process
  • Maintain recruiting timeline for events and projects
  • Assist with purchase of Kirkland branded gifts and giveaways
  • Respond to inquiries from attorneys/staff, as needed
  • Assist with administrative support
  • Respond actively, thoroughly and courteously to the needs of clients and internal requests within the firm; volunteer time and knowledge; work effectively and willingly with others.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education, Work Experience, Skills:

  • Two plus years of experience, preferably in law firm or other professional services environment.
  • A Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills required. Experience with Symplicity and ViDesktop preferred.
