Essential Job Functions

The Firmwide Compensation Analyst is an integral part of the Firm’s expanding Compensation department, reporting to the Associate Director, Firmwide Human Resources.  The Analyst works closely with Senior Leadership, local Human Resources and the HR Business Teams to address the global HR needs, projects and objectives of the Firm’s over 2,000 business services staff.   The position provides research, analysis and reporting to ensure the Firm remains competitive in compensation administration, and workforce planning on a global basis.

Essential Functions: (This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented and changed as necessary.)

  • Analyze competitive trends in compensation and identify the Firm’s position against market;
  • Participate in compensation surveys for all offices, review benchmarks annually to ensure market competitiveness and prepare and analyze survey data;
  • Construct salary ranges and work with Talent Acquisition and HR departments to hire and retain staff;
  • Partner with the internal Compliance team to analyze, report and create action plans around pay transparency and pay equity;
  • Assist in the administration of the annual US base pay and bonus programs;
  • Partner with Senior Leaders and HR Business Teams to provide compensation analysis and guidance during annual compensation process, organizational development planning and reorganizations;
  • Recommend annual salary alignments based on competitive market analysis;
  • Act in a consultative role to senior leadership, HR leads and others on simple to moderately complex issues regarding compensation programs, policies, procedures and processes;
  • Partner with Associate Director to construct, maintain and communicate best practices and standards for staff compensation;
  • Track and report on workforce analytics, including open positions, budgeted positions and projected headcount needs;
  • Maintain compensation data ensuring accuracy and data integrity;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education, Work Experience, Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or related experience, preferably with focus in human resources, finance/accounting, statistics or business administration and 5+ years compensation/human resources experience;
  • Strong research, analytical, statistical and critical thinking skills;
  • Solid knowledge of standard compensation principles and processes;
  • A proven track record of initiating, leading and successfully implementing projects;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure;
  • A proven track record of maintaining confidentiality, meeting strict deadlines and maintaining a professional demeanor;
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing;
  • Strong interest in process improvement, working across teams, and cross functional learning;
  • Ability to work independently; and
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment with all levels of management in a fast-paced challenging atmosphere.


  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Experience with PeopleSoft or other HRIS system preferred
  • Experience with HRSoft or other compensation tool preferred

Certificates, Licensures, Registrations:

  • PHR (Professional in Human Resources) or CCP (Certified Compensation Professional) certification or related education preferred.

Work Environment:

  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
