Essential Job Functions

We are seeking an energetic, organized coordinator to support the marketing and business development efforts of the Firm’s market-leading, award-winning Investment Funds Practice Group (IFG).

As a key part of the Business Development (BD) team in our New York office, the IFG coordinator will contribute primarily to survey and directory responses, and media and awards nominations on behalf of IFG practice. In addition to crystalizing IFG’s topflight brand in directories and other media outlets, the candidate will also assist with various marketing and business development initiatives, including events, pitches and proposals, contact relationship management, branding, business/relationship intelligence, and internal communications.

The ideal candidate is an exceptional writer, verbal communicator and critical thinker. The candidate possesses excellent organizational and project management skills, outstanding editing and proofing skills, the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment, strong attention to detail, and a professional and polished demeanor. Excellent judgment and discretion in handling confidential or sensitive information is also required.

The position will interact with attorneys and administrative staff across practice areas and all of the Firm’s offices, and work closely with two other local team members. The coordinator will also communicate and collaborate daily with the more than 140 diverse problem-solvers and advisers dedicated to the broader BD, marketing and communications efforts of the Firm. Our international marketing team provides seamless service to our attorneys, with a focus on quality, innovation and responsiveness.

Essential Functions

  • Work closely with lead IFG attorneys for directory and awards submissions, gathering relevant experience, references and key statistics; drafting succinct and easy to read descriptions of relevant experience; scheduling interviews and drafting preparatory materials for attorneys; and liaising closely with external contacts.
  • Prepare submissions for IFG to legal directory publishers including Chambers and Partners, The Legal 500, IFLR1000, and Private Equity International among others.
  • Prepare awards and media feature nominations or IFG for The American Lawyer, The National Law Journal, Law360, the Financial Times and other publications.
  • Ensure a consistent identity for the IFG’s responses to directories, awards programs and surveys.
  • Draft marketing collateral and pitch materials, responses to RFPs and client presentations, including proofreading, formatting (must have exceptional PowerPoint skills), editing, printing, binding and delivery.
  • Assist with event planning and execution of seminars and receptions, industry conference and charitable sponsorships, speaking engagements, client entertainment and other events related to the promotion of the investment funds group.
  • Manage information in the Firm’s contact relationship management (CRM) system, including the review and creation of mailing lists used for direct mail campaigns.
  • Conduct research and prepare intelligence reports on clients, potential clients, competitors and target industries.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education, Work Experience, Skills

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required and a minimum of three years of experience is preferred, preferably law firm, professional services or private equity/finance.
  • Candidates with a solid command of the Associated Press style guide, grammar and journalistic writing principles, as well as an understanding of persuasive writing for marketing communications are preferred.
  • An understanding of private equity is a plus.
  • Ability to extract trends/stories from information/data.
  • Production of department materials requires strong writing and proofing skills. Spelling and grammar are very important to maintain professional standards. 
  • Excellent client service orientation, interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to forge and maintain effective internal and external relationships and interact with various levels of personnel. Strong ability to adapt to change and thrive in fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to organize and manage a diverse range of assignments/projects and prioritize multiple tasks. Must be able to think quickly in deadline situations, find appropriate avenues, both internally and externally, for resolution and be able to weigh options to achieve the best outcome.
  • A history of taking initiative and working with minimal supervision is essential to success in this position. Must be a high achiever, with a drive to succeed.
  • Ability to thrive in an electronic environment and utilize technology to deliver information. Proficiency in methods of information acquisition, including the use of online information databases, tools and resources.


  • MS Office software proficiency; expertise in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel are required.
  • CRM/Database Software (e.g., InterAction, Salesforce, ContentPilot, etc.) experience is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Preqin, Pitchbook, eVestments and other industry research platforms is a plus.

Work Environment 

  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
  • Overtime work may be needed.
