Essential Job Functions

As a member of the Staff Recruiting team, the Recruiting Specialist will be responsible for full-life cycle recruitment efforts for business support staff. By building trust-based relationships with both hiring managers and candidates, the Recruiting Specialist will guide all stakeholders through a seamless hiring process. This position will be based in Los Angeles with a focus on recruiting for the West Coast, but will support hiring for all US offices. 

Essential Job Functions include, but are not limited to:

Independently manage all aspects of the recruiting process:

  • Lead discovery meetings with hiring managers to understand their hiring needs and help structure the interview process
  • Develop tailored strategies and source passive and active talent for open positions
  • Prequalify candidates based on position requirements and present qualified candidates to hiring managers
  • Conduct phone screens, video interviews, and in-person interviews
  • Schedule interviews and administer skills testing and other assessments
  • Other HR and recruiting duties, as needed

Support the hiring and onboarding process

  • Work with HR and hiring departments to prepare offer packages
  • Extend offers to candidates, provide explanation of benefits, and negotiate when needed
  • Share necessary information with HR Recruiting Coordinator to facilitate the onboarding process
  • Present HR orientation and help welcome new hires to the Firm

Manage vendor relationships

  • Partner with third-party staffing firms as necessary for hard-to-fill positions
  • Maintain professional relationships with recruiting search firms and professional organizations
  • Secure temporary contract workers as needed for various departments

Reporting

  • Prepare recruitment status reports and metrics for hiring managers on a weekly basis
  • Manage applicant flow and track activity within ATS
  • Collaborate with Recruiting team to record activity and track staffing metrics

Qualifications & Requirements

Education, Work Experience, Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree required, or high school diploma/GED and equivalent professional experience
  • 5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience required, ideally in a law firm or other professional services organization
  • Excellent communication skills and a proven track record of working in a fast-paced environment
  • Customer service mentality and ability to work collaboratively across offices

Technologies/Software

  • Applicant tracking systems, PeopleSoft preferred
  • Experience with LinkedIn Recruiter and knowledge of Boolean search logic
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with Zoom or other video meeting platforms

Certificates, Licensures, Registrations

  • PHR or SHRM is a plus

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
