Essential Job Functions

The New York office is seeking a Legal Recruiting and Development Coordinator to join our Firmwide Legal Recruiting and Development Department (“LRD”) and be the primary contact for local Diversity and Inclusion initiatives. 

  • Responsible for the coordination and implementation of all initiatives related to the recruitment, retention and promotion of diverse lawyers. 
  • Plan and execute internal and external diversity events and programs.
  • Work independently to support and drive forward strategic initiatives.
  • Build and foster working relationships with diversity and inclusion recruits, lawyers, and staff contacts.
  • Ability to work across functions to synthesize diversity within broader Firm framework.
  • Handle diversity related sponsorships.
  • Develop and track diversity budget.
  • Benchmark best practices to identify new ways of advancing diversity.
  • Provides administrative support for new and ongoing diversity and inclusion programs.
  • Assumes other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education, Work Experience, Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience, preferably in law firm or other professional services firm
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong team player with consummate client service skills
  • Utmost respect for confidentiality and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and push projects forward
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with specific deadlines and adjust to changing priorities in a fast paced environment with a professional manner

Technologies/Software

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel; Citrix, PeopleSoft, SharePoint, viDesktop.
