Essential Job Functions

Assist with non-attorney recruiting process

  • Work closely with hiring managers to understand hiring needs of the department.
  • Collaborate with Regional HR Director regarding opening new job requisitions, the job posting process and acquiring salary range details.
  • Prequalify candidates based on job description details and present qualified candidates to hiring managers for further consideration.
  • Manage applicant flow in the ATS.
  • Manage phone and in-person interview processes including scheduling, testing and candidate communications.
  • Partner with third-party staffing agencies as necessary for hard to fill positions.
  • Manage all open positions on the K&E career page, job boards, and with professional organizations.
  • Proactively source passive candidates for open positions using LinkedIn and other candidate sourcing tools.
  • Prepare recruitment status reports and metrics for hiring managers on a weekly basis.
  • Manage offer and negotiations with final candidates and coordinate pre-hire and on-boarding steps with HR Coordinator.
  • Print applicant applications and monitor their completion.
  • Manage background verifications and follow up on any items needing attention.
  • Follow up, as needed, on conflicts analysis clearance.
  • Communicate with pending candidates through start date.
  • Conduct professional reference checks.
  • Initiate payment of all recruiting invoices and follow up with any inquires.

Administrative duties include but are not limited to

  • Create Employee Files.
  • Assist in new hire orientation preparation including the creation of orientation materials
  • Arrange new hire lunches and send out calendar invitations to lunch attendees.
  • Answer phones, filing, copying and other miscellaneous duties.
  • Maintain Staff Recruiting files, both physical and electronically on DMS
  • Assist Los Angeles and San Francisco HR team as necessary

Qualifications & Requirements

The Staff Recruiter will focus on full-cycle recruitment for a variety functional areas including Secretarial, Paralegal, Administrative, Accounting & Finance, Marketing and Legal/Compliance for the California offices. This position will work closely with various department heads and hiring managers as a business partner throughout the recruitment, selection and on-boarding processes, and will provide support to the HR Department in a back-up capacity, if necessary.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: schedule and track interviews, coordinate pre-interview testing, greet and escort candidates to on-site interviews, track communication with candidates, create offer letters, manage background verification process, conduct professional reference checks, initiate payment of recruiting invoices, actively participate in the use of the firm’s Applicant Tracking System / Recruiting Module.

Education, Work Experience, Skills

4+ years of staff legal recruiting experience is required. Strong professional presence, communication, organization, and attention to detail required. Candidates must be well-versed in Applicant Tracking Systems, PeopleSoft is a plus.

  • MS Office required specifically including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • PeopleSoft experience is preferred.
  • Experience using LinkedIn Recruiter is a plus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
