Essential Job Functions

The Washington, D.C. office is looking for a Junior Paralegal for our International Trade and National Security (ITNS) Group.  A Junior Paralegal is an entry-level Paralegal.  Junior Paralegals generally work under the supervision and direction of Paralegals and/or Advisors.  They help manage and organize the materials and information relating to particular matters and transactions.  These duties allow them the opportunity to work with and assist our legal staff in compiling background information for Merger and Acquisition deals, completing discrete research projects, organizing materials and information for internal investigations, and preparing document productions for filing with regulatory bodies.  The projects typically involve data and document management and organizational tasks, and may require long hours.  We use some of the latest technology available for electronically managing documents and information, and we strongly encourage staff to take advantage of our extensive software training. Owing to the smaller size of the group, Junior Paralegals in the ITNS Group who demonstrate extraordinary interest and ability are provided opportunities to be involved in work more typically undertaken by more senior Paralegals.

 

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor's Degree and two-year commitment required; ABA Certified Paralegal Certificate preferred. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: excellent analytical and writing skills; strong coordination and teamwork skills; research skills and experience; planning and organization skills, including the ability to manage a number of projects concurrently; excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; proactive approach and the ability to work "hands-on" as required; strong problem-solving skills; proficiency in the use of software, including Word, Power Point, and Excel.

Junior Paralegals are full-time employees, and are eligible for paid holidays, paid vacation days, sick days, and insurance, as well as overtime and bonuses.  In addition, we offer a very competitive salary as well as excellent opportunities for advancement into Paralegal positions.
