Essential Job Functions
The Senior Analyst will assist the needs of Finance by addressing operational and analytical reporting requirements, and will also consider future demands for quantitative and qualitative analysis capabilities. This position will apply analysis and modeling techniques to provide senior management with detailed information related to the Firm’s financial performance, business operating and strategic plans, and critical financial management issues.
Qualifications & Requirements
The successful candidate will have 6+ years of experience supporting accounting and/or finance functions, showing progressive growth in responsibilities. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or similar area of study is required. Previous law firm or professional services experience is preferred.
This candidate will have strong accounting, analytical, research, and conceptual thinking skills. The ability to work with intricate data, while maintaining an awareness of the overall objective and how all the relevant data points fit together is critical. The candidate must possess a healthy skepticism and willingness to question the validity and accuracy of data sets.
Proficiency with SQL query logic, relational databases, and “hands on” report writing experience is required. This includes a broad literacy with reporting methodologies, including best practice approaches to data presentation and consumption. Advanced competency in Excel including pivot tables, lookup functions, etc. is essential.
This candidate must have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, and be proactive, resourceful, and results-oriented. This individual should possess strong written and oral communication skills in order to clearly and concisely summarize observations, conclusions, and recommendations. Attention to detail, strong customer service skills, and a commitment to excellence are imperative. The successful candidate will be capable of working with all levels of Firm personnel, both as part of a team and independently.
